A start point portal is essentially a gateway domain name that is relevant to a
guest's information need. A vertical marketing portal is a more specifically focused
sub domain web site, whose name makes sense in context. Contexts may be by function
or geography.
Commerco views its portal network as conduits to commerce rather than some who offer
destination portals. Commerco portals are not a destination, but offer a vehicle to
make the search for on-line e-commerce enabled companies easier. Because Commerco
does not ever intend to retain a core beyond its ability to point, it compliments

One of the most frequently asked questions received by Commerco from consumers is
how The Commerce Company generates revenues through portals. Commerco
makes its money through referral fees achieved from CAPs for sending business that
resulted in good transactions for our CAPs. Though it costs a consumer nothing
extra to use Commerco portals to discover outstanding online enabled commerce
resources, Commerco still generates income via links to our CAPs as the ability
to find new customers is a win for all parties.
In some cases, there are CAPs who offer Commerco revenue for finding new affiliate
partners for them. In this way, Commerco can assist others interested in developing
