Welcome to The Commerce Company.
The Commerce Company has engaged in the business of the Internet since 1995 through its predecessor companies. Commerco began the actual research and development process for its start point portal network in late 1999, refocusing its mission fully on developing its own property brands and generally leaving behind the business of hosting.

Since the early days, the company has worked to make positive contributions to the Internet by offering a better structured and more logical environment to reach companies engaged in on-line electronic commerce.

A lot has happened over the years, we've grown and matured. During 2005, our company was faced with some serious challenges which we have to work hard to overcome.

In 2010 we overcame another hurdle and continue to recover and learn. In 2011 we have already seen our work help our clients achieve their goals and expect to have some significant announcements during the early summer.

(After all we've been here from just about the beginning, we're just slow bloomers)

Soon Commerco will leverage its expertise to help businesses who do not have or cannot have a classic performance based marketing program with Companies.Net, a site being developed to manually index companies by geography (where they are located) and by function (what they do). From experiences learned, these are among the most common ways that people look for information online. Through this paid index portal, Commerco is working to make finding companies easier and more efficient. Commerco's primary business model has been based upon performance based marketing, which the company believes is the most fair and measurable way to develop e-commerce based sales and marketing relationships. Because performance based relationships reward actual sales performance, no monies in these types of relationships are transacted unless actual sales are generated. This is a reason why companies, including such revered names as GE Commercial Finance, and Walmart, all use performance based programs. Please refer to Commerco's Marketers start point portal for more on performance based marketing.

Learn why The Commerce Company remains optimistic about the future climate for Internet commerce.

Commerco was originally conceived to solve the ongoing issue of finding companies who engage in on-line e-business. Companies spend remarkable sums to develop their sites, yet the investment is not fully or effectively leveraged if these sites cannot be found. Commerco holds a large number of generic portal names which its management recognized have great potential in focusing traffic for its CAPs on-line businesses.

Commerco describes these sites as start point portals, because they provide a starting point for viewing specific business types. Often, Commerco qualifies its generic web site start point names with more targeted vertical names. These qualified portals are called web sites vertical market portals. This powerful combination allows for highly targeted visitor demographics and thus an excellent conversion rate.

Although some interpret the term "portal" as an end point to Internet e-business, Commerco believes that a clearly defined difference exists between start point portal networks and destination portals: A start point portal network provides conduit channels to e-commerce, while a destination portal really offers an end point market for e-commerce goods and / or services in a specific discipline where commerce groups can do business (basically an on-line commerce market). Commerco portals are start point portals, not destination portals.

As such, Commerco portals offer a metaphor for on-line net enabled electronic business districts rather than the actual market where commerce can take place. Some of Commerco's portals are business to customer (B2C) where Commerco directs consumers to on-line stores, while others are more business to business (B2B) focused, much like a financial business district.

What We Do
The essence of our mission is simple, Commerco facilitates electronic commerce by pointing the way for people and companies seeking to do business with other companies. That is, the vision for Commerco portals is a starting point for e-business on the Internet. Again, unlike some other portal companies, Commerco does not view its portal network as an end point to commerce, but rather the network is a pointer to destination portals sites as well as individual e-commerce companies.

With this in mind, The Commerce Company has developed a clear strategy for its portals:

  • Always Intuitive
Portals within the Commerco Network must be intuitive for consumers visiting Commerco e-commerce start point portal sites. For example, if a consumer desires to find merchandise choices, The Merchandise Network (WWW.Merchandise.Net) should be the first place they consider to find all kinds of products in several languages.

  • Always Relevant
Company web sites that are added to the Commerco Network must directly relate to the Commerco portal site or sites within which they are placed. Saving time for consumers is critical for consumer acceptance of the portal concept. While many portal strategies call for their sites to be "sticky" in nature, Commerco believes its portal network should be "teflon®". In other words, when a consumer arrives at a Commerco portal, they should gather enough information to know exactly which Commerco Commerce Affiliate Partner they wish to visit and depart to that site to view and purchase from the Commerco affiliate partner as quickly as possible.

  • Always Commerce
All Commerco portals must connect consumers with actual on-line e-commerce enabled companies offering related goods and / or services that reflect the nature of the portal.
Commerco management is pleased to announce that since the start of the turn up process of its initial e-commerce start point portals in September 2000, The Commerce Company is responsible for many tens of thousands of dollars in e-commerce transactions that have been profitable for Commerco, its portal guests and its Commerce Affiliate Partners.

In summary, commerce must evolve into a natural part of the Internet consumer experience for the Internet to sustain itself and become a true business resource. The management of The Commerce Company believes that, based on its encouraging results, the company's start point portals are truly beginning to prove that they meet needs of all involved in the commerce process from the manufacturing supplier to the finished goods consumer.

The Commerce Company deplores the acts of war perpetrated on US soil, targeted at both the US and the civilized world on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. We remember the thousands of dead from over 80 nations and support the mission of Operation Enduring Freedom. We also remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our own enduring freedom. Our prayers go to those families of military armed forces, intelligence operations and media members who have lost loved ones doing dangerous jobs to make our world better for future generations.

Support and pray for our leaders, military and intelligence agencies of nations around the globe who work every day to keep their citizens safe.
